Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has appointed a new Executive Chairman for the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).
A statement on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abba Anwar, said that Mahmoud Balarabe has been appointed the acting Executive Chairman of the agency.
Anwar noted that Balarabe will succeed Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, who was suspended by the state House of Assembly earlier this week for rejecting an accountant deployed to the agency from the office of the State Accountant General.
The statement added that until his appointment, Balarabe was Director for Public Prosecution at the state Ministry of Justice.
According to the statement, the governor directed Balarabe to discharge his duties diligently according to the laid down procedures establishing the commission.
“The appointment is with immediate effect… The acting Executive Chairman has been directed to discharge his duties diligently, according to the laid down procedures establishing the Commission,” the statement read.
