Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the recent abduction of some babies and nurses by bandits in Kaduna State.
Fani-Kayode in a terse reaction to the news, lamented the current state of Nigeria as a country.
It will be recalled as earlier reported by Naija News that bandits have abducted babies, female nurses, and security guards from the residential quarters of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre (NTLC) in Zaria, Kaduna State.
It was learnt that the gunmen invaded the residential quarter from a nearby forest, engaged policemen in a gun battle before they escaped with their victims.
However, the actual number of persons kidnapped from the residential quarter by the gunmen is not clear as at the time of filing in this story.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, told PRNigeria that Nigerian troops have intensified efforts to rescue the victims.
Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode wrote on his Twitter account: “Babies abducted from a hospital by terrorists in Kaduna? What a country!
Meanwhile, in another development, gunmen suspected to be bandits on Monday morning invaded Bethel Secondary School in Maramara Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted scores of students.
The affected secondary school is a boarding school located on the outskirts of Kaduna.
The security guard in the school, Daniel Muhuta, while speaking on the development said, “I escaped narrowly. They came around 1.00 am and started shooting. I was at the back of the school dormitory when I heard shooting and decided to pin down.”
As of the time of filing this report, security operatives have been deployed to the school, while parents and relatives of the abducted students gathered at the main entrance of the school.
