Troops of the Nigerian Military have arrested an ISWAP logistics supplier who also doubles as an errand boy for top ISWAP commander, Modu Sulum.
The logistics supplier, identified as Wida Kachalla was reportedly captured by troops from Forward Operating Base Ngamdi led by acting Commander 154 Taskforce Batallion, Major DY Chiwar.
Sulum himself it will be recalled was recently killed by troops of Operation Hadin Kai.
According to PR Nigeria, the errand boy, Wida Kachalla, is a native of Murguba Settlement, an ISWAP-Bolo Haram enclave and was arrested at Benisheikh Market.
The source quoted by PR Nigeria on the incident added that at the point of arrest, Kachalla, succeeded in chewing his GSM SIM cards, but his two mobile phones with IMM were recovered by the troops.
“In recent week we have intercepted Communication and couriers of terrorists in their various channels and routes
“While the suspect chewed and swallowed his sim cards we already the major data for intelligence gathering.
“Other items recovered from him include a Bag of flour, cartons of Biscuits, crates of Evaporated Milk, crates of Soft-Drinks, cartons of anti-grass chemical, Packet of Bicycle Sporks, among other consumable,” the source said.
In other news, troops of the Nigerian Army operating along Mokwa-Jebba road have arrested a fleeing bandit in a vehicle travelling from Zuru to Ibadan during a stop and search operation.
The development was disclosed on Tuesday by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu.
Nwachukwu while speaking on the development noted that the troops spotted an occupant of the vehicle, who claimed to be Sgt. Aminu Sule.
He noted that the suspect was seen with a pair of camouflage, military boots, a knife and substance suspected to be charms.
According to him, the suspect confessed to be travelling to Ogbomosho in Oyo State and further claimed that the uniform and boots belonged to his brother, who was a soldier.
Nwachukwu further stated that the suspect was running away from the ongoing operations in Niger State to a safe haven.
He added that the suspect was immediately apprehended and handed over to the police at Mokwa for further investigation.
