Newsonline reports that South-East Socio-cultural organization has slammed the ruling All Progressive Congress, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, for denying the region presidential candidate in the concluding party primaries.

Ohanaeze said it was clear that the two dominant parties do not take Ndigbo as worthy of the highest post in the land.

The Secretary-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, made the statement in response to the concluded primaries of PDP and APC.

Newsonline had reported that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, from Adamawa State, North-East, was elected the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate.

Also, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State, South-West, was elected by the ruling All Progressive Congress, as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 general election.

Ohanaeze said Ndigbo has been the only region that has maintained and championed unity in the Nigeria project, but regrets amid calls for Igbo presidency in 2023, by well meaning Nigerians, the ruling APC and the opposition PDP care more about Igbo loyalty and not equity and fairness.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo salutes Igbo Presidential aspirants in both the APC and the PDP for standing firm to the end, in the face of utter betrayal by both parties.

While commending the Igbo presidential aspirants under APC and PDP, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said they h ave stood strong and championed the curse for equity and fairness for Ndigbo in their parties.

“Indeed, the usually calm Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu appropriately captured the mood of Ndigbo, especially the South-East, when he asked a very pertinent question while speaking at the APC primary: ‘where is the Justice?’.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo salutes the Southern and Middle Belt Alliance, for insisting that it is the turn of the South-East, come 2023.

“We commend in a very special way, elder statesmen like Afenifere leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Niger Delta Leader, Pa Edwin Clark, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Middle Belt Leader, Dr. Bitrus Pogu, etc for rising above ethnic sentiments to be true heroes of Nigerian democracy.”

Ohanaeze said the 2023 general election shall see a revolution that shall make or mar Nigeria as the country shall be taken back from kleptomaniac politicians.

“The 2023 Presidential Election shall make or mar Nigeria if the citizens fail to rise above ethno-religious sentiments to ‘take back Nigeria’ from the vicious grip of the kleptomaniac politicians.

Isiguzoro said called on the youths to know that Ohanaeze is in full support of the social media campaign to save Nigeria.”The denial of presidential ticket to the South-East will come with consequences as it will fuel agitations.”

“There is proof that their super firepower on social media can be converted to real votes to salvage their beloved country.”

Newsonline had reported that Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State, who has clinched the presidential ticket of Labour Party, has massive youth followers, with all polls on social media tilting in his favour.
