Despite being counted as one of the best actors and alpha males on the planet, Sylvester Stallone has struggled to emulate the same success in his personal life. Over the years Stallone has been married three times. First to Sasha Czack, then to Brigitte Nielsen, and with Jennifer Flavin, for a heavily ever after. And while both Jennifer and Brigitte get a mention for helping Stallone shape his career and for holding down the fort while he made his career, little is written about Sasha Czack, his first wife, who like the others held the fort for Stallone as he was away on his numerous assignments. So, for this article, we will take a closer look at the wiki-bio of Sasha Czack.
Early Life and career:
Alexandra Jane ‘Sasha’ Czack was born on the 17th of July 1950, in Chester, Pennsylvania. Following her graduation from St. John’s Senior High School, Czack enrolled and graduated from the University of Notre Dame du Lac in Notre Dame, Indiana, with a bachelor’s degree in media studies.
Even though Czack was interested in acting from a very young age, she decided to pursue a career in movie making upon graduation. While working on a number of off-camera jobs, Czack made her first on-camera appearance in the TV series, Love of Life. Her efforts didn’t go unnoticed, and Czack was called for the part of the leading lady in the drama movie, Play It As It Lays.
However, Czack could not say yes to the role due to a dispute with her then-husband, Sylvester Stallone, who wanted Czack to help him write Rocky. In 1976, Czack took up the mantle of the lead photographer for Rocky but was never credited for her works. She also made an appearance in Rocky III alongside Stallone. She took a decade-long hiatus after that and made her directorial debut with the movie, Long Lost Live.
Even though Czack’s talents were never raised to full potential, she had a ton of fans. The film director, and producer, Andy Warhol, was a huge fan of Czack’s works and also wrote about her work in his memoir, The Andy Warhol Diaries, which was published in 1989.
Stallone, Sacrificing her career, and other things:
Stallone and Czack met while working on a couple of similar projects and began dating soon after. The pair got engaged in the 1970s, around the same time Czack was offered the role in Play It As It Lays. However, Czack ended up giving up on the role to help Stallone write rocky. The pair tied the knot on December 28, 1974, in a highly publicized ceremony. The pair had their first child, Sage Moonblood Stallone, in May of 1976, and their second son, Seargeoh Stallone, was born in 1979.
Seargeoh was diagnosed with autism from a very young age and Czack decided to sacrifice her work to stay with him. However, Stallone could never sacrifice what he had built and the pair’s marriage ended almost immediately. The pair got divorced on 14 February 1985 and Czack was paid USD 12 million for settlement.
The divorce also created a rift between Stallone and Sage, and it is only after the pair began working together that they reconciled. But Sage passed away in 2012, due to heart failure. While Stallone tweeted out asking for privacy and compassion, Czack blamed his death on the tooth operations.
“I told him not to do that. I’ve heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth. Do not have more than one tooth [pulled].”
Czack took her time to get into the dating pool and began dating sound engineer Rick Ash. As the relationship escalated the pair tied the knot which came nearly twelve years after Czack & Stallone divorced. However, the second time still lacked the charm and marriage go on to dissolve. The details on the divorce never made it to public or media outlets. Czack does not have any kids from the second marriage.
