ASUU and FG finally come to terms to end strike which is now 8 months and counting over disputes on Payment system and unpaid allowances

Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, made a proposal on behalf of the government to the striking lecturers when they met on Friday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital

This is in order to address the earned academic allowances and revitalisation of the universities in the country and to end the strike

Recall that the union had been on strike over unpaid allowances and for disagreements resulting from the FG payment system

But in the latest meeting held between the federal government of Nigeria and the academic union of universities, a lot of progress was made

The strike is now set to be called off by the academic union of universities, ASUU
