The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has reported one hundred and eighty-eight confirmed new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria. The health agency confirmed the development on its official Twitter account on Friday night, September 11, 2020. This brings the overall cases of the dreaded disease in Nigeria to 56,017. So far, 43,998 persons have been discharged from the novel virus while 1,076 were reported dead of the virus.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday inaugurated the Special Purpose Vehicle for Presidential Power Initiate to assist the government in improving the delivery of power in Nigeria. Naija News reports that the committee includes the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman; and Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
